About IQAC
Hiralal Mazumdar Memorial College for Women, Dakshineswar amid several premier institutes in and around Kolkata, has emerged as a Centre of learning experience with a difference. Re-accredited as an A+ graded College in 2023 by NAAC 3rd Cycle. We are now striving for excellence and to elevate ourselves further. We aim to transform the institution into a hub of emancipation for the girls who flock to the campus from adjoining suburban and rural belts of Hooghly, Howrah and North 24-Parganas.
The idea of imparting education to the women folk of the was conceived more than six decades ago in1959.The road ahead was bumpy, clouded with challenges; yet our zeal to strive for a noble cause continued unabated, with the dream of elevating the College at least to the state level. We embraced the ideals of discipline, determination and dedication as basic principles that would not only help students to spread the wings of their desire but also gradually guide us to the path of perfection with honesty, integrity and humility. Our mission is to educate, empower and emancipate in compliance to the needs of the society. We are keen on grooming students in application-oriented need-based learning to improve their cognizance beyond the norms of classroom teaching. A resourceful library equipped with technological facility and INFLIBNET, in addition to seminar libraries attached to each department is an added advantage for the academic pursuance of students. Organizing Seminars, both national and international, quiz contests, debates, “Saraswat Charchachakra”, an academic club are steps to sustain the academic ambience in the College. Principal of the College provides her sincere and able guidance to both the academic wing and the administrative wing and acts as the guardian of the beloved students. The teachers of the College are dedicated, sincere and cordial; they try to keep themselves available to meet the academic requirements of the students even after college hours. During COVID-19 Pandemic crisis teachers are trying hard to be in touch with their students through online mechanisms for academic and psychological relief.
