Research Development Cell
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 plans to encourage high-calibre research inside the system of higher education. In order to improve the quality of education provided by higher education institutions (HEIs), research and innovation are crucial components. Only a strong and thriving higher education ecosystem with a focus on research, innovation, and technology development can address the societal concerns facing our nation. The College had its own Research Sub-Committee since 2016, which was working under the able leadership of its convener, Dr. Lipika Mullick Ray. Budgetary allocation was also there to provide seed money to the teachers. After UGC announcement this committee has been upgraded into Research and Development Cell (RDC) to promote the goals of empowerment and enlightenment. RDC, HMMCW, Kolkata provides seed money to faculties and students to carry out primary research activities in order to foster research and innovation skill. In order to promote innovation, RDC, HMMCW, Kolkata assists inventors by paying the patent filing fee. It encourages innovations so as to enable our nation to become more vibrantly developed.
